Sheet Metal Folding.

Our 2020, 200 tonne 4.1M Morgan Rushworth press brake is a multi axis machine which gives us greater accuracy and control over components that we need to press.

Our CNC controller allows us to directly import any 3D Model from our Cad Software which then calculates the Bend Sequence and shows any discrepancies in the part which ensures the flat profile will be correct before we commit to cutting. 

From low Quantities of lighter mat​ erial to high volume production runs of heavy material, this machine is comfortably at home. 

Bend Table Explained

This Bend table will help you understand what is achievable and practical in folding sheet metal. 
Below we have highlighted in grey and orange the most common setup used for each thickness. Down the left hand Side we have our material thicknesses. 
The first row across the top (labeled R) is what our internal bend radius will be, below that is our minimum bend depth (B) and below that is the size of our bottom tooling (V). The numbers on the inside of the Table is the Various Pressure or Tonnage required depending on the material thickness and V we select. 

An Example Explained.
Take a look at the 2mm Thick down the left hand side and follow the orange line across to the right. We have six Numbers inside the table from 23T to 10T. This means we have six options for folding our 2mm and this is the Tonnage required depending on V size. The Orange on the 2mm runs vertical at 16T, this requires the 16mm V, the minimum bend depth will be 9.6mm and the internal Radius will be 2.5mm. 
All of the thicknesses can be folded on any V that shows a number in the Tonnage required however we have highlighted the most Common tooling used and kept in the industry. 

Max Tonnage
If our 2mm Part from above is 3M Long this means we will use 16T X 3M = 48T 
If our part is 12mm x 2M long and we try to fold on the 80mm V it will require 121T x 2M = 242T, the minimum fold will be 48mm and the internal Radius will be 12mm. 

For Aluminium multiply answer by 0.6
For Stainless multiply answer by 1.6
